So after all of the recent iPhone news, including news about yet another new iPhone, why you should care about any of it and what exactly should concern you?
Well, I've BRIEFLY detailed why the new iPhone OS should matter to those that don't plan on getting the new iPhone and how to update to the latest version...Let's do it!
If you are enjoying your current iPhone you are most likely running iPhone OS 2.0. Well, after all of the recent iPhone news - the new software for the iPhone has just been released.
So why does this new iPhone software matter to you?
Because you have new features and better iPhone performance silly, that's why lol! No seriously, there have been numerous updates that have really helped make the iPhone a better tool. I have listed a few of the new and most important features below:
- Spotlight Search - basically you go to the absolute first screen on your iPhone (even before the first screen with the pre-installed iPhone apps) and you can search your entire iPhone. This feature was already included the Macs but is very helpful on the iPhone.
- Built-in landscape keyboard
- Messages
- Voice Memos- will probably remove the need for any BASIC third party voice memo apps
- and of course the infamous CUT, COPY, and PASTE
Who can take advantage of the new software?
Any iPhone or iPod user who updates. iPhone users get the update for FREE and iPod users pay a $10 update fee - http://www.apple.com/ipodtouch/softwareupdate.html (whomp whomp).
What is the difference between updating my iPhone software and buying the new iPhone 3G S?
Well your new iPhone 3G S will have:
- Improved Performance
Built-in video camera with editing
Voice Control
Compass - I can't wait to see the apps besides the new Tom Tom nav app that will utlize this tool, I personallly don't get it besides this app. Only time will tell
How do I get the new iPhone software?
Getting the newest iPhone software is almost as easy as plug and play. I have included a link on detailed software update directions here: How-To Update your iPhone Software .
That's it for now my friends, I hope this helps!
